Scarab - one of the most known symbols of Ancient Egyptian mythology. He - Hepri's embodiment, the oldest Egyptian god connected with intimate sacraments of the Sun, god of morning and rising. The scarab having wings and holding a fiery sphere between the paws became a symbol of the new, young, rising sun of spring which has won darkness and revived on light of day to bring a new impulse of life and renewal. Its two wings symbolize two eyes - seeing in the dark, connected with the Moon, and day, giving life to all real, connected with the Sun.
